SUDDENLY GONE

James Smith from Australia's most southern state of Tasmania knows what he wants. At the age of 44, he knows that no matter how bright the wheels or paint are, or how low the car is will make his dream car come true. Purchased brand new in 2004, his Holden HSV Clubsport only needs one thing, and that is power.

Being a V8 with the 5.7 Litre engine and coupled with a 6 speed manual gearbox, the car would never be slow straight from the factory floor. However James has added more bang to the engine from a Sureflow exhaust which utilises twin 2 1/4 inch pipe work which couples to straight through 3.5inch pipe work. A Wilson Fast inlet manifold and Wilson Fast throttle body allow a lot more air into the engine, which is also aided by an Over radiator cold air intake. Isky camshafts with high durations hide under Roller Rockers and give that V8 some more grunt even when idling at the traffic lights. After a tune through a full Stage 2 computer edit, the car now manages 285kw at the rear wheels. Not too bad since the car came standard with that much power at the engine alone.

James has said that more may be in the plans for the near future, but for now, he is happy with shocking other cars from the lights. Being a fan of Bathurst 1000 has its benefits as he will know where to look for more parts to make his car even faster. We wish him all the best for his adventure down the modifying path.
