A: Approximately 50 cars turn up to one of the biggest night time gatherings in a long time.

The Sex Spec crew are not new to Custom Cars Online and its readers as you would all know. We feature some of their cars almost every month. This is not because of a special alliance, but their members’ cars are just so different and well thought out, that their forum discussions are full of feature worthy rides. The term “Sex Spec” is now even a common phrase around Australia’s car modifying scene.

With the unfortunate decline in Sydney based car shows, the car enthusiasts of the city were delighted to see the return of “Show Car Sunday” which was held at Rosehill Racecourse within the inner west.

It was a cold morning and mother nature had woken us all up with tornado like winds sweeping through the open area. With the sun still managing to shine through, there was a great turnout at Frankies Auto Electrics in Albion Park Rail for their next SPL Competition and Sound Off.

For Australia’s biggest overall car and motorbike enthusiasts’ show, the week proved to be bigger and better than ever. The level of work performed by not only the workshops, but also the owners has raised the bar again which is a trend which we hope to continue seeing.

With a hot and sunny week in Las Vegas late last year, the SEMA show proved that the modifying scene has still got many fresh ideas. Some of our staff had visited the show to cover the event for our readers and came back with way too many pictures and the effect that no words could ever cover the event. It is just a show that has to be seen to be believed.

New paint schemes and colour combinations, unreal detail in interior and exterior body modifications, hot rods, muscle cars, European supercars, classics and retro cars mixed it among every other stereotype of vehicle imaginable.

Michelle started modeling at the age of 20 and over the past 2 years has built up quite a name having posed in magazines and worked at various events.

The 21 year old owner of this car, Ivan, is determined to build some of the nicest street cruisers out there. When asked why he chose this particular car to modify, he answered that he just likes spending money on cars and that is the way that it will always be. He even said that his next car is unknown as of yet, but one thing that he is certain of, is that it will also be receiving some of his hard earned cash.

Having just recently started to work in the modelling field is Peta, who at 20 years old has already made an impact with much interest following Sydney’s SEXPO late last year where she posed with custom car builders Madhatter Customs.

When you have an accident in your car, you feel that nothing worse could happen at that time. But think for a second that you were to have an accident in your friends’ car, and then try to compare the difference. You would obviously feel much worse. This is what happened to the owner of this VR Holden Commodore. His best friend accidently smashed the car, but owner Dean says that it was a blessing in disguise.

Owner Shane has been modifying cars for quite some time now and you can tell because the level of excellence and finish that this car shows is truly remarkable. He is obviously a man who knows what he wants in terms of finish and cohesiveness.

STREET SCENE WRX

The Subaru WRX is one of the worlds most loved cars for modifying. It falls into the same category as the Nissan Silvia, Nissan GT-R and the Honda Civic. All of these cars have an abundance of parts ready to be bought off the shelf and installed to make the owners car just little bit more enjoyable.

KEEPING IT CLEAN

Choosing the right car to modify can be a daunt-full task. But when you fall in love with a cars’ lines and overall shape, then you know that you just need to have one. The owner of this clean VL Commodore comes with a background of owning a variety of cars in the way of a Mazda Astina, Lexus IS200 and also a R32 Nissan Skyline GTS-T. That is a pretty diverse mix of cars by anyone’s standards.

Modifying a vehicle is something that requires patience, determination and a strive to stand out from the common crowd, and to be honest, we have yet to feature a car in this online magazine that is as stand-outish then Beau’s beast.
